Google Ads is labelling AI Asset - you are legally responsable
Another ššš šš šš¼š¼š“š¹š² šš±š šØš½š±š®šš². New Legal Update you should know. AI Assets are getting more regulated now!
Google is rolling out šš š°š¼š»šš²š»š š¹š®šÆš²š¹š right now (throughout July), across Google Ads, Display & Video 360, Campaign Manager 360, Merchant Center and Ads Editor.
Ā

If your ads use AI generated or AI edited assets, users will see it disclosed in the "How this ad was made" panel inside My Ad Center.
Important knowledge:
ā
For campaigns targeting the EU, India or New York, the label also shows directly on the ad itself as a visible overlay.
ā
You manage labels manually in Asset Studio, or during campaign creation when Google prompts you to "review assets."
ā
Every AI generated image and video from Google's tools now carries a SynthID watermark and C2PA metadata, invisible to the eye but readable by machines.
ā
Google will send in-product prompt to "Review assets" if ads in your campaign may require an AI label.
ā Once Google applies a label automatically, on your behalf or because a region requires it, you cannot overwrite it.
ā One important note: using the label setting doesn't guarantee legal compliance on its own. If you advertise in a regulated market, I would get proper legal guidance.
This also changes how we should think about testing generative assets at scale.
